You're right, it's 251 mass shootings as of August 4th, 2019 that have occurred in 2019 which fit the inclusion criteria of Stanford University MSA Data Project resulting in 1,032 people being shot. Of those people, 281 have died. with an averages out to 1.2 shootings per day.
