He also claimed he convinced Ford Motor Company not to move a plant to Mexico. A move that Ford had already stated wasn't happening.
As far as job growth goes, according to the Boston Globe, going into 2017 the US had 75 months of job growth with an average of 200,000 new jobs a month.
