Dogs don't "steal" when they take something that isn't their own. They just don't have a concept for personal property; it's a very human idea which dogs just don't understand. Dogs see a thing, they want it, they go and get it. There is nothing nefarious behind this behavior.
What about baseball players? They'll steal a base, but not to deprive someone else of property (unlike MLB franchise owners)..
