There is no rule that requires a lifetime appointee to the Court to recuse herself or himself. That's as in zilch, zip, nada, zero... Oh, or zero as in percent (0%).

If we know for a fact that he's using her to vote in his own self interest, it wouldn't be ethical to recuse? I'm not saying it's a rule. I'm saying the appearance is crooked as hell.

The lifetime appointments were part of the original concept at The Constitutional Convention. Right now we see the "down" side. In 1954, though, segregation took a big hit w/Brown v Bd of Education I. That wouldn't have happened w/o lifetime apptmt
