I can give you many reasons why this might be the wrong decision lol... But I am heavily leaning towards the older bus. It's going to take a year or so to get it ready, at least, which means I will be a 50 year old in a 50 year old bus.

Beyond that aspect of it... when I think about being done and living in it, whether on the road or on a remote property somewhere, I get the impression I might still be looking for something 'different' if we are in the newer ones as they will always lack that 'coolness' factor.

If I could get a new all-electric bus, it would certainly sway me, but that's not going to happen lol

When I think about fleshing out the build, the newer ones are just a 'what do we need' type question. With the older one, anything that we can, I want to get that is as old (or older) than the bus and I. For example... We do want to have some type of washing machine in it.

I've went back and forth over the whole gamut of options on this one, from the balls you put your clothes in and roll around, to hand cranks, to modern ones. None of them really fit though.

What does though, is an old spinner washer. Swap the motor out for a DC motor and it's perfect.pic.twitter.com/R3ObMLcVMP

Turn it sideways and build it in under a counter that lifts out of the way and it's small enough to do what we need, without using much water or power.

You can't get this one by me! I recognize that apparatus - a crude prototype of a Mark IX transmogrifier/time machine. So I guess we go w/the early 1970s model, fitted w/current tech for both emissions control AND re-entry after time travel (& spin dry).

They still think 'go for a spin' means a drive...

They'll change their minds the first time you pop out, say in 2144 & they realize they're not in a theme park!
