Ms. Spartz extols trump, who wants to impose autocratic rule on this country. By contrast, even after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook, when little kids were mowed down by an idiot with rapid-fire weaponry, the NRA paid to suppress meaningful gun control. 4/14

Then again, as NPR reported on 9/27/19: “The National Rifle Association acted as a ‘foreign asset’ for Russia in the period leading up to the 2016 election, according to a new investigation unveiled Friday by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore.” 5/14

As Republican precinct committee person for my precinct in Indy, I’m offended that someone who purchased a nomination to Congress would, in a purported opposition to tyranny, act to advance it. 6/14

A 10/15/15 article in Rolling Stone noted: “Republican presidents from Richard Nixon – who wanted a federal ban on handguns – to Ronald Reagan to George W. Bush all voiced support for gun control. ... 7/14

“George H.W. Bush was so furious at NRA’s extremism that he renounced his lifetime membership during his term in the White House. More remarkable, even the NRA once voiced support for “reasonable” gun control,... 8/14

“including mandatory background checks at gun shows and prohibiting guns at schools, like we do at airports. “No guns in America’s schools, period,” insisted NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre in the aftermath of the Columbine school massacre.” 9/14

And then there are the people who show up, in camo and with assault rifles, at demonstrations. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is - through legislation. It would be nice if the CDC could sponsor peer-review studies of gun violence as a health issue. 10/14

Unfortunately, Fed legislation in mid-1990s snuffed such studies. Ignorance can be a wonderful thing - for a would-be dictator. And the idea that we can fight government tyranny w/assault rifles is absurd. 11/14
