Do any other members of the #writingcommunity find they mis-use hyphens in their first drafts?
I've just done it again! That should have been misuse, sorry.
I find it to be an annoying failure of mine. Do you have problems with them?

Try look-up v lookup, for instance. I initially wrote the former, but MerriamWebster, sorry, Merriam-Webster tells me the latter is now the accepted usage.

There is no contest. Why extend a perfectly good abbreviation when its entire purpose is to be brief? The proponents of vs have clearly lost their judgement (weak pun intended).

Sorry to point this out, but 1st day in legal writing the professor said there only is one "e" in "judgment." The alternate spelling might be accepted in other contexts, but not in 1986 legal writing.
