White supremacists have taken control of the Republican Party (a/k/a GOP). They are a minority, but are well-financed and have an advantage: control of one of the two major political parties. 1/11

They had a hold on the Democratic Party, from 1865 until the mid-1960s, but both parties had wings that balanced racism and made it okay - as long as one was white. Then LBJ, a white southerner, backed the Civil Rights Act. 2/11

GOP strategists realized they could pick up where George Wallace left off. Fast-forward to 2010. Republican candidates learned “primary” could be a verb - if a GOP candidate wasn’t hateful enough. 3/11

Racism goes foot-in-glove with ignorance. Anti-science, anti-humanity and absorption with absurd ideas rejected long ago coalesced to produce this administration and the bungled COVID-19 crisis. 4/11

Both “major” parties have played a game that has created structures - e.g., automatic listing of a party’s candidates on the ballot - nearly impossible to challenge as a “third” party - petitions and thousands of signatures. 5/11

The idiocracy that has become the GOP must be fought - but within as much as against. Rather crude blueprints are there. I don’t have a secret decoder ring from the Deep State. I believe we need to take over the GOP. 6/11
