Jugglers, clowns & acrobats Merriment galore in lucky Middles Ages villages arrived the circus carts & w/them came plague rats & off jumped fleas to land on humans - pneumonic trumped bubonic but at the end of both was death & the end of pain & birth of the Enlightenment.

Justinian plague in 6th Cent. caused by biovar, antiqua, from fleas on rats, occurred between 542-546 affecting 100 M people; Black Death 14th Cent. caused by medievalis, around 50 M deaths; Third Plague/Modern pandemic by orientalis biovar, began in late 1800's > 12 M deaths.
