America’s two-party system - consisting of these two specific parties as they have regressed - sucks. Each party is beholden to moneyed interests and each delivers a type of chaos. 1/15

America’s roots of dysfunction run as deep as 1st days of republic when founding documents said all are created equal, but actions of those in charge indicated otherwise. Yet this country progressed. 2/15

America never was great so long as: slavery not only existed, but was protected by The Const; women had few rights & weren’t mentioned in Constitution; & the indigenous peoples were starved when not outright killed, & their lands taken. 3/15

America glimpsed greatness in 1954 when Brown v Board of Education killed farce of “separate but equal”; in 1973 women when gained > control over their bodies/their lives w/ Roe v Wade; & indigenous peoples were understood to have been screwed. 5/15

America began to achieve greatness when: in Vietnam we stopped military-industrial complex w/our free press & free speech; laws against pollution stopped rivers fr burning & orange skies over cities once more turned blue and breathable. 6/15

America’s road to greatness was impeded w/GOP’s “Southern Strategy” whereby GOP pandered 2 elements of white racism 2 capture the electors’ votes and Congressional seats previously (virtually) conceded to the Dems. 8/15

America’s 2 major political parties had liberal & conservative wings until LBJ signed Civil Rights & Voting Rights acts. LBJ’s prediction that the Democrats had lost the South for a generation was an understatement. 9/15

America’s 2 major political parties’ similarities differ in scope. Dems’ chaos of debate & disagreement is (somewhat) like Star Trek’s Federation of Planets. GOP’s is like Romulans Vessels of each R fueled by dilithium crystals of campaign cash. 10/15
