The word “bigot” has been bandied about a lot since “All in the Family”’s CBS premiere in CBS in 1970, & America had its 1st taste of political & social satire on sitcom. Jonathon Winters chimed in w/ character whose name was “Bigot” - pronounced “Bee-SHOW.” 1/34
Archie Bunker was not particularly religious. (He and Edith had a couple of spats over the matter, although Archie met the supreme deity in his basement.) I wondered if there was an updated version of “bigot.” 5/34

Because a “bigot” is a “hypocritical professor of religon” - & that’s what Rev Beckwith is. In his whiz-bang Feb 7 video, he says he cannot unify - said in the context of government - around someone who says Jesus Christ is not the only way to salvation. 7/34
