I agree. If you look at most communities with top rated schools they pay for those schools through very high property taxes. Some pay so much in property tax that nonpublic school would actually come close to being cheaper.
We shouldn't tie finance of education to property taxes. That makes funds available to schools inherently unequal. Tax bases of wealthy districts have so much more $ available.
I agree but sadly it happens and people who can afford to move to those communities and pay those outrageous taxes and meanwhile the majority of other school systems struggle.
