A new war against Iran will probably cost $10 trillion and last over 30 years. But we can’t afford free college, Medicare for all, defined benefit social security, environmental protections, gun control, paper ballots, labor laws or food safety. Because that’s all soshulizm.
I agree w/most of what you say, however: College would not be "free" - no decent education system is "free." But ignorance & bigotry are far more expensive & young people would not be saddled w/lifetime debt to the likes of Betsy DeVos.
