most are cowards ... easy in and out. Crimes of opportunity. Why bust in your door with cameras all over the place when the guy next door has a ring the perp doesn't even know exists. I see these ring videos all over. Guy walks up, kicks the door in and the ring gets it all. so
They understand indications of security systems beyond stickers in windows. Cameras - or decent fakes - are good if visible but inaccessible. They love doggy doors, btw. And I've represented a few burglars. I never asked for advice. I only had to read probable cause affidavits.
