If people went off to Iraq or Afghanistan in the belief they would fight for freedom and democracy or for our national security, they were wrong. Whether they died in vain depends upon whether we continue to be fooled by this charade. 12/12
1) Profits: major corporations made signif profits from sale of materiel 2) Prop up dictatorship in the South (vs the dictatorship in the North) to avoid "domino effect" & spread of communism There probably are more reasons, but those come immediately to mind
