I wish that I could've been back home this weekend to honor my father by visiting his grave with flowers & a flag. He served bravely in WWII and received many commendations along the way. He was the most honorable man I've ever known.

My father avoided WWII w/dr's excuse My brother avoided Vietnam w/dr's excuse. I was in the last (or damn near) lottery & tried for CO exemption. My mother told me we don't have cowards in our family. That was 1973. (My dob was beyond the # called)

Similar for me. In 1973 my Random Sequence Number (Draft Number based on birth date) was 036. I was waiting to be called when they ended the draft. I was in Queens NY at that time but never met a "Bone Spurs" Dr.

My father had at least one cardiologist - I wasn't around yet. My brother had six neurologists.
