I wish that I could've been back home this weekend to honor my father by visiting his grave with flowers & a flag. He served bravely in WWII and received many commendations along the way. He was the most honorable man I've ever known.

Similar for me. In 1973 my Random Sequence Number (Draft Number based on birth date) was 036. I was waiting to be called when they ended the draft. I was in Queens NY at that time but never met a "Bone Spurs" Dr.

My father had at least one cardiologist - I wasn't around yet. My brother had six neurologists.

My dad served. If I weren’t disabled, I’d serve in a non-combatant role (my uncle was ambulance attendant). I feel we should help weaker countries against bullies, but killing people is as wrong for us as it is for them. We need to teach non-violent conflict resolution in school.pic.twitter.com/4KkW4ZNqVa

After WWII study indicated US infantry only 15-20% on-target: because by nature we don't like 2 kill others Mil leaders viewed training as defective & adjusted We R in so many countries & it only makes us < secure.
