Etiquette demands that atheists navigate social nuances and perpetually remain respectful towards religious belief -- even apologetically so. Yeah, fuck that. I genuinely believe obsessive "faith" to be a socially sanctified mental illness. One that deserves only disdain.
otoh - I like your qualifier of "obsessive" because a great many ppl who adhere to one faith or another do not bludgeon non-believers & I respect those ppl's opinions.
