Worst I felt as a kid: 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis & we had 2 practice getting under desks BUT - that was it. Crisis passed. This? It's daily & has 2 end!

Yep. I remember the getting under the desk drills! Much worse today since we actually have the power to do something about gun violence in our schools.

Flashback to 1962, when 9yo me used to pull the covers over my head & sleep with only my nose poking out because I didn't want to see The Bomb go off...

I also had bad dreams about the same time of Gort, the robot in "The Day the Earth Stood Still."
