Betw 1776 and 1783 many of the ppl in the colonies who opposed slavery moved to Canada. Does that explain the nascent hostility?

Things are different here. Not sure why, could be. We unfortunately can never have a North American version of the EU. The gun issue and other issues are so far apart.
