I don’t understand the impeachment movement. We know damn well that there’s zero chance of the Senate convicting him. (No way 20+ Rs vote to convict.) So the headline middle America will see: “Trump Found Innocent on All Charges.” Why is that a scenario we want to pursue?

1. All his crimes will be shown in a public Court. 2. More can be investigated. 3. He could have to testify under oath. And that testimony could be used against him. Of COURSE he'd lie a lot. NOBODY has ever been taken out of Office by impeachment. But do you let him scot free?
I agree w/ 1 & 2, but do not believe he could be compelled to testify under 5th Amend since crimes are implicated. Also, while two Presidents were impeached, but neither convicted. There've been at least 4 Federal judges impeached, convicted, and removed from office.
