To Kochs, charitable contributions are just an insincere cover story, a counter-measure shiny object to blur their actual deceit. It's all tactics with them. Much like founding so-called non-profit institutions, they use democratic norms to undermine democracy.

The only reasons they donate to charity are the financial incentives and positive PR. I am sure you have already read Dark Money by @JaneMayerNYer ?

Adolph Hitler supported a couple of Boys and Girls clubs designed to improve physical fitness and instill patriotism, a couple athletes, and a camping club. Just because someone gives money doesn't mean they aren't a murdering psychopath.

Mary, I haven't been defending them, just trying to point out that they are not the one-dimensional boogeymen that they are generally made out to be. $100 million to the cancer ward at NY Presbyterian Hospital, whatever the motivation, helps a lot of people.
