It is financial, but a bit more complex. A lot of the cooks had meth blow up in their faces. Restrictions on cold medicine grew. So? It became cheaper for cartels to make meth in Mexico & ship it here. Replaced pot as a commodity.

Agree. In CA, one person can only buy max two boxes of anything with ephedrine, buyer’s ID must be run to make sure that they have not been shopping all over for it, and it is locked up behind the counter. The labs that are in trailers & homes are called Beavis & Butthead labs

The environmental cost of assholes dumping acetone, muriatic acid, and all of the crap that goes into meth is exceedingly high. They go out to the orchards here (very rural area) and just dump it. It’s gross.

We used to have small time meth cookers here. Not much any more. Mexican meth is better. It’s taken over the market.

Meth is the nastiest drug I have ever seen as far as its effects on its users. It’s horrifying.

You know, it’s funny. I’ve seen gruesome people and other who you wouldn’t suspect. A woman who looked like a protected house wife had been using meth for 20 years. Another man claimed to have stopped using meth - except just 1/2 teaspoon in his morning coffee, a pick me up.

I’ve seen too many addicts in court and on the streets.

That’s where I see them too. All I am saying is there is variance.

I guess if they are recreational users, they don’t look like addicts. I dated someone who used it recreationally. I didn’t know that until after we were no longer together. He didn’t look like a tweaker (no bad skin, had his teeth, had gainful employment, etc).

There were a lot more people who did drugs in the 1970s and did really cool things & kept things together than who went the other way. Point? Criminalization only works for those who make $ from it.
