The NSA agrees: time to move away from C/C++ to memory-safe languages, including Rust

It seems like they specially omit rust when recommendeding language for c/c++ replacement. It's a either a innocent typo or NSA knows something we don't.

MSFT has some great (free) training to get introduced to Rust.

I need to play with Rust. Curious how Rust performance compares to .NET Core...

Has to be an OS mechanism to help with this. Sandboxing within OS doesnt stop buffer overflows? Certified apps dont have code reviews for bounds checking?

Not saying I disagree necessarily, but the US DOD tried to do this in the 90's with Ada. Everyone knows and uses Ada, right?

That’s the easiest solution to propose by a government agency. But not always the right choice for the task. Remember when ADA was supposed to be the strong typed memory safer language mandated by DOD? Government agencies do not always get it right.

I'm hoping rust makes a larger reach into the game development ecosystem. There's some projects out there now, but not enough to make a significant shift away from C++.
