    I 💯sympathize w/ reasons people find this compelling+I admire the motivation here. Unfortunately this will end badly for most people who follow this path. Ironically, low-fee index funds in 401(k)s are among the best safeguards RE financial discrimination

    When you see someone say “decertify,” ignore them. There is no mechanism for such a thing under the law. Here’s the thing: you’re the mark. They want your money, they want your rage, they want you turning out, protesting, & threatening officials. You’re a pawn. Nothing more.

    For those of you who are wondering, no, there's absolutely nothing in state or federal law or the US Constitution that would permit a presidential election to be decertified. It's not gonna happen. It's not a real thing.

    All very good advice. And definitely don’t neglect benefits. They are compensation, too. And, don’t be arrogant about it, but also realize that they probably need you worse than you need them. And, outside California, watch out for non-compete agreements. (They’re illegal in CA)

    1) True. 2) One of the stranger airchecks I have (and the strangeness builds on itself) is of AM stereo station KYST in Texas City (outside Galveston) in 1984, doing a bilingual tejano-alt-rock format, when it played “Just Another Day” between tejano hits. So I bought the album.

    Got up with a mild headache and a unmotivated attitude. Put on some vintage Oingo Boingo (must have been in my head from that Weird Science tweet last night) Dead Man's Party album, LOUD. Attitude fixed. Danny Elfman will generally get your day started correctly.

    I am saddened to hear this. Donn was a pioneer in the field and I enjoyed my interactions with him over 3 decades. I still use some of his works in my teaching; more people should be aware of his work in computing ethics, in particular.
