(Oh no, did I Tweet that out? It was supposed to be a DM to our Oncology-Pharma Totally Private Cabal ...)

One of my Uber drivers was on a rant about that last year, when I was STILL on chemo— just finished radiation— & couldn’t drive. That was fun. He was, like, 24 & personally didn’t know anyone who had cancer or in medical field. But... BIG PHARMA.

Not unrelated to Trump's comment, when signing
#RightToTry, that it would save hundreds of thousands of lives. The narrative of evil government that's against, not with, us.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Now you know how all of us cancer patients feel when we get well meaning advice and such.

Oh, I already knew. Doctors can be patients too. Exhibit A: my pancreatic tumor (and believe me: if I “had the cure” I wouldn’t have undergone a Whipple surgery to remove it)

Right after I was diagnosed 5yrs ago I heard that claim many times from friends/family. I'm pretty sure Dr. Lewis can confirm that the occurrences of cancer & cancer-related deaths are the same for pharma execs, govt officials, medical professionals & your average Joe.pic.twitter.com/bYMVzbvmLf

We also know the cure to the common cold - but it’s so much fun seeing people sneeze...

My 5 yr old son died. I get told this all the time. It’s tiring, and quite frankly I need my energy to focus on surviving myself, not challenging this stupid conspiracy theory. My recent approach has been to <switch off> and say “hmmm” during the breaks! Do you defend or ignore?

Oh Leona, I am so deeply sorry. Such ignorance to salt your wound. Clearly we oncologists have more work to do if people are this skeptical of our good intentions. We will try to be better: for you, for your boy.
