That’s nonsense, that money was there because food stamps didn’t exist. Now, everyone’s got a job but 60 million people still get food stamps

Food stamps started in 1961 lol. We only spend 71 billion per year on food stamps now. That’s a long way from 2 trillion in 2 years. #Facts

So did we have food stamps when we went to the moon in 1969? That was the point! Because someone on here tweeted that. Apparently we only went to the moon because we didn’t have food stamps in 1969.

We didn’t have food stamps, but I seem to remember that there was a program for poor people where they distributed excess farm products, like cheese, maybe flour and some other things. Anyway it’s a dumb comparison.

Historically, National Debt has exceeded (or equaled) GDP under extraordinary events: WW2, 2nd Great Recession; but this time is unique in the annals of history. National Debt exceeding GDP is now directly correlated to the effect of the Trump tax cut.https://www.thebalance.com/national-debt-by-year-compared-to-gdp-and-major-events-3306287 …

At at time when the ultra-wealthy already control a mind-boggling amount of wealth & corporations have Trillions in cash, the GOP decided to explode the national debt to shift even more money to the ultra wealthy and cash-rich corporations.

It's not too far off to say that the lies that Ryan, McConnell, Trump and the rest of the GOP told the public verges on criminal. This trajectory is unsustainable, people are becoming more politically engaged, the fallout to screwing the middle class for decades is building...

Obama doubled it in 8 years so less than 10% in 2 years is not too shabby all things considered.

A10% increase equals approximately real GDP growth those two years. Big improvement over the Obama years.

Thanks largely to cowards in Congress in past 20 yrs who failed to reform mandatory spending such as social scty, medicare,&welfare. Prudent action could improve access for current recipients&fix future accounts. But no-politicians in both parties more worried about their careers.

I hope you know we, the tax payers pay for Social Security and Medicare during our working life. This is not money the government should count with for other expenses. It's our money and for that, it doesn't give them the right to cut social services down
