Even if the only thing they did was fundraise the 15-20% of payroll expenses that they represent would be a bargain. Plot twist: They do considerably more than that.

If you have a problem with the outcomes the foundation is delivering, or the existence of foundations in open source, that's fair enough. But pretending that the compensation of the Linux Foundation's leadership is somehow shameful is nonsense.

I felt the same way: a bargain for value produced. I was also surprised revenue was only 60MM. Maybe most of the corporate donations come via code contributions? At any rate my only nit pick is Linus can and should be a better community leader and he’s working on that.
