I love how @AAPSonline and @AlietaEck use a single anecdote and no other evidence to claim that "waste, fraud, and abuse are rampant in the current Medicare system," without showing with hard figures that waste, fraud, and abuse are in fact rampant in the current Medicare system.https://twitter.com/AAPSonline/status/1120841264184741888 …

Because they aren’t. Good measures of excess cost in US put fraud in the tiny minority of excess cost < 5% compared to excess administrative cost which IIRC is in the 20-30% range and which Medicare *excels* at lowering with its 7% admin overhead.

Replying to @MarkHoofnagle @gorskon and
So in every regard this is opposite of true. See the Commonwealth Fund reports on excess costs. These guys don’t have a leg to stand on.

Not surprising. They almost never do. It never ceases to amaze me how one organization can be so wrong about everything.

I know what you think about the vaccine issue. But to say AAPS is wrong on everything is a cheap shot. We oppose the corporate and government takeover of medicine because this leads to substandard patient care. I must assume you champion them.

Except for how they’re wrong on everything. Associating with HIV/AIDS denying, antivax, abortion/cancer linking bunch of liars suggests major deficiency in professional judgment. AAPS is so fringe a Trump appointee had to distance himself as a member. And he was a crook!
