A very talented friend of mine, who interned w/ @GOPLeader, and at 20 was one of the highest ranked staffers in the Trump campaign, was just fired from his new job when client found out he worked for Trump. He now can’t afford rent. Still think cancel culture isn’t that serious?
He wasn’t part of the Capitol riots, nor did he support or defend them, nor was he outspoken with his new company about politics. The client, an NHL team, found his LinkedIn and threatened to cancel their contract with his company if they didn’t remove him- so they did.
The Left has taken this too far. When political censorship costs young 20 year olds jobs in the workplace, and they are forced to try and make ends meet, it goes from being “just politics” to life-altering, heartbreaking disappointment for a talented, young professional.
I’m infuriated, frustrated, and upset for him. He just graduated college in May. He rose through the Trump campaign ranks so quickly due to his talent, and he’s one of the kindest human beings you’ll ever meet. He also has so much to offer any workplace.
Using what happened last week as a way to paint all Trump supporters with a broad brush might be fun and games for the mainstream media and big tech, but now it’s destroying lives of aspiring professionals.
And before the whataboutism starts about “lives destroyed because of Trump and the riot,” he’s not Trump and he wasn’t at the riot. If he’s responsible for the words and actions of Trump and the rioters, then look out everyones....
because if that’s the case, we all are sinners responsible for someone else’s trangressions. A slippery slope that will come for everyone. I’m heartbroken for him. This isn’t fair. If anyone can help, please reach out.

If you’re willing to work for a political campaign you absolutely deserve to be “painted” with what that campaign stands for. If your friend didn’t want to have to answer for President Trump’s actions, he shouldn’t have worked to get him elected.
I understand it’s a cliche argument but if the roles were reversed and someone who worked with the Democratic campaign was fired b/c he supported Biden, I don’t think the reaction would be “he should’ve known better.”
