The law, of course, does, as that’s clearly assault, and I generally don’t condone violence. But “free speech” has nothing to do with that. You’re free to say your opinion per the first amendment without govt censorship. Another free citizen punching you is not covered by that.

Had the person committing assault been a govt entity, i.e. federal agent, police officer, some sort of govt official, yes, that would clearly be a free speech and 1st amendment violation. He’s not, so free speech has nothing to do with it. What else you got, Mark?
