Political Islam is an evil doctrine. This kind of “diversity” has no place in Canada. There is nothing of value offered to us by this doctrine. It should be easy for all leaders to denounce Political Islam. @JustinTrudeau finds it hard for some reason.

I have no appetite for religion in my government, AT ALL. But political Christianity doesn’t call for the death of blasphemers. It doesn’t stone rape victims and throw gays from rooftops. It doesn’t behead infidels on camera. The two are light years apart.

Yes. They did execute people for blasphemy, historically speaking. We’ve just progressed passed this barbaric act. There’s still lots of African Christians killing people for being gay. Or albino even. It’s the extremism we need to fight. Not a specific religion.

As many as there as Muslims doing the same? I can remember when the image of “religious extremism” was bombs in Irish schools. Times have changed. Now it’s a jihadi shooting his AK in the air.

Canada has a bigger issue with the Christian Right than we do have with Islam. I doubt you can prove that statement incorrect. My problem with your statement is that you pick and choose based on specifics of one religion outside of Canada. Lots of them have severe issues.

What issue do we have with the Christian right in Canada? Islamic extremists are doing FGM in Canada. Plus they occasionally shoot up a street or run us over on purpose.

Army of God shooting abortion doctors and nurses who work there. That was the last organized terrorism in Canada. And Jewish extemists have be mutliating boys genitals and nobody even blinks an eye at all with this. Boys have died from this in Canada. You do realize that...

I think there have been several Islamic extremist attacks by ISIS members on Canadian soil since that happened. I disagree with male genital mutilation as well, but you cannot honestly believe it's of the same severity as FGM?

Name one organized group of ISIS extremists that have attacked people in Canada. They've all been lone wolf attacks. And male genital mutilation is a bigger problem that most think. The scheer number of accidents causing lifelong issues with a circumcision has been hidden.

ISIS is the organized group. The attackers were all trained by them and then snuck into Canada to commit attacks. How do you see them as "lone wolf" attacks? I agree MGM is a problem. I didn't mutilate any of my kids. But it isn't as big a problem as FGM. Cut men still function.

Those people in Canada were not organized. They were all lone wolf attacks. If that's your litmus test, then right wingers are a bigger issue... remember that guy in Montreal shooting up a mosque? Those young folks wanting to blow up a mall in the east?

And FGM is extremely rare to happen in Canada. It happens outside of Canada... medical tourism. And it's not solely the Islamic community. Many African christians preform FGM as well.

The important thing to realize about FGM is it comes in all kinds of different forms: http://www.who.int/reproductivehealth/topics/fgm/overview/en/ … I'd never try to say a male circumcision compares to Type III (infibulation). But Type Ia is analogous, and Type IV (pricking, piercing) is generally less invasive.

Stop calling it FGM. Call it female circumcision. 1) That's what circumcised women call it. 2) "FGM" indicates it's different from male circumcision when in fact it isn't.

I agree, forcing unconsented unnecessary irreversible amputation on a child is absolutely unconscionable. http://journalofethics.ama-assn.org/2017/08/msoc2-1708.html … The physical damage varies from cut to cut, and the anatomy varies between sexes, but the basic ethical principle is the same: Bodily autonomy.

They actually no longer recommend this at all in Canada anymore due to complications and that one case several years back where a boy died due to bleeding out overnight. It's all barbaric and we shouldn't allow this at all, especially for "religious" reasons.
