Gutted for , he was very close and would have been a great mayor, although seeing Palmer evicted is a good consolation prize. In brighter news, Lib Dem performance in South Cambs - 24k votes! - puts us in a great position to take the seat next General Election

The 'piles of bodies' Boris Johnson refers to were mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters - people I knew and loved and who you knew and loved. Let us never forget that during this crisis, our Prime Minister treated those whose lives were lost as dispensable.

I am deeply saddened at the death of my friend Shirley Williams. A brilliant politician of European stature, an example of progressive liberal thought in action for many happy decades.

We are desperately sad at the passing of Shirley Williams - the undisputed godmother of the Liberal Democrats, without whom the party probably wouldn’t exist. As we mourn, we are grateful for her zeal, passion and commitment to the Liberal cause in the UK.

Shirley Williams has died aged 90. She was a cabinet minister, co-founder of the SDP, Lib Dem leader in the Lords and one of the most influential politicians of the 20th century. Condolence to her family and her many friends across politics.

Shirley Williams was an inspiring political figure, passionate, sincere, principled and empathetic. She made me confident that I had found my political home in the Liberal Democrats. We will all miss her energy and her guidance.

Over Easter, I've been out with fantastic Lib Dems in every area of Cambs & Peterborough. The Lib Dems are the only party with cllrs in every council, working hard for our residents. On May 6, we can to change the way our area is run, making C&P greener and fairer!

South Northants Conservatives haven't got round to inserting their prominent local pledges 😂 We suggest maybe not "save our libraries" -- won't wash with voters here in Northamptonshire after Tories shut so many local libraries, against the wishes of, yup, pretty much everyone
