This week, CIRM is attending the 17th meeting of the Joint IMO/ITU Experts Group on Maritime Radiocommunication Matters. WRC-23 agenda items, revision of COMSAR/Circ.32 and EMI on board vessels are on the agenda.

ISO has published new standard ISO 24060 (Ships and marine technology - Ship software logging system for operational technology), supporting the CIRM/BIMCO Industry Standard on Software Maintenance of Shipboard Equipment. This week, CIRM is participating in the 44th session of the IMO's Facilitation Committee and IALA's ENAV and ENG committee meetings, all from our home offices. We hope you are keeping safe and well.

CIRM will participate in this week’s Extraordinary Session of the Committees (ALCOM/ES) virtual IMO meeting, which will consider guidance to facilitate remote sessions of the IMO’s Committees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lots of work on standards this week: CIRM is attending ISO TC 8/SC 11 and IEC TC 80 WG 6. Look out for the reports in the CIRM Technical Bulletin.

This week and next, CIRM is attending ITU-R Working Party 5B on the maritime mobile service. Our 3 input papers have now been considered. Look out for the meeting report in early August.

The July edition of the CIRM Technical Bulletin is out this week, including the usual updates on our activities. The maritime industry’s transition to online meetings continues apace, and this month’s bulletin contains a number of meeting summaries.

This week CIRM is attending IEC Working Group 17 which is developing a standard for the S-421 Route Plan based on S-100. More information in the next CIRM Monthly bulletin ...

This week the CIRM Technical Office is participating in online meetings with ISO/TC 8/SC 11/Working Group 3: "Software-based PMS" and RTCM SC137: EMC Requirements for LEDs and other unintentional emitters located near Shipboard antennas.
