Mission politico and activist Jon Jacobo has been accused of sexual assault — though his accuser says she does not wish to press charges.
But charges could be brought, regardless, despite the alleged victim's wishes.

1. How likely is it that Jacobo will be charged? 2. If charged, will he be booked into the SF County jail, thus subjected to increased delta variant risk? 3. How is it credible that the accuser didn't understand this potential scenario?

Long conversation with a Black homeowner about these allegations yesterday. Both the description of events leading up to the alleged assault and the manner in which the accuser brought this to light were disconcerting to her. TBH, it seems like a political hit job against Jacobo.

The use of social media to attempt to pre-try the case may in the end raise Jacobo's stature with older voters, particularly older women of color. In the meantime, it's raised reasonable questions about the standards for groups associated with accuser, and local media's response.

What's the connection between the accuser and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies? What's the relationship between the Schusterman group and charter schools? Whose partner is being targeted in the SFUSD recall?pic.twitter.com/qQv5jdNamW

How would an accusation of rape against the partner of the President of the SFUSD affect the upcoming recall election? The accuser's father is a Senior Director at Schusterman, the charter-school-promoting foundation built on the billion-dollar oil and gas fortune, Samson Res.pic.twitter.com/3Tsd4OGfRW

Even Joe Biden couldn't stomach taking money from the polluting Schustermans, but the Perigo patriarch is okay with working for the rightwing behemoth. Hey, a man's gotta make a living! A man's got to pay a mortgage in Marin!https://www.forbes.com/sites/michelatindera/2020/08/07/another-oil-and-gas-billionaire-sent-joe-biden-money-he-sent-it-back/ …
