MeToo went too far. Many of the initial accused were justifiable but many later accusations were not. Some men are guilty of questionable choices with comments or humour and are being tarred with the same brush as the Weinsteins and Cosbys.
I agree. But people should be properly investigated. Kavanaugh wasn't.
No proper evidence was brought forward.
No "evidence" was brought forward because the FBI were hamstrung in their investigation by @realDonaldTrump and the GOP. Any real investigation would have seen him disbarred nevermind denied a seat on the Supreme Court.
The SJC Dems had plenty of time and didn’t need the FBI. They didn’t want to investigate because they knew it wasn’t true and banked that the implication would sink the nomination. How Ford isn’t in jail is a crime.
If the #MeToo
continues to hold itself as judge, jury and executioner of these mens' fate then it will eventually become the monster it was created to destroy.
If there’s so far only #dueprocess with 1 SWM producer, 1 black retired comedian, + 1 “gay” alleged pederast; while allowing so many alleged STR8 abusers 2 still act in 2019 #Hollywood: it’s the usual #racist #homophobia #WhitePrivilege in the #justice system as usual #metoo
Well at least it got franken. So win there for ya.
guilty before proven this is one of the reasons Brett got through. dem's go where the wind blows no real conviction. there is a degree to everything but dunk with power they went after everyone the same.
Chloe Melas was not 'the only named woman in the [CNN Morgan Freeman] story.' There was also @TyraMartin, who vehemently disputed the way she was presented in the "With Reporters" portion of the article, as did @KristienGijbels, who revealed herself post-publication.pic.twitter.com/zhFrP9OV50
Also named in the CNN article was @LoriMcCreary, Morgan Freeman's longtime and ongoing partner at Revelations Entertainment, The Producers Guild of America investigated several McCreary article claims and found they had no merit.https://twitter.com/LoriMcCreary/status/1075475260076711937 …
1. Alana Horowitz Satlin, @achorowitz As Senior Editor of Breaking News @HuffPost US you and @marinafang are making fools of yourselves including #MorgaFreeman in your #MeToo
witchhunt blacklist just repeating @CNN narrative and avoiding contrary evidence. Please, @LPolgreen!!!pic.twitter.com/w0O2zsIdta
2. As Richard Horgan knows I published in Spanish an investigation proving the sexual harassment allegations vs #MorganFreeman were fabricated by @CNN´s @Chloe_Melas. Major newspaper of Spain @ElMundoEs revisited it. Here an automated English translation:http://www.tellerreport.com/life/--the-accusations-of-harassment-against-morgan-freeman-come-to-nothing--who-now-restores-his-reputation--.S1-AqUQyE.html …
3. "A journalist from CNN fabricated evidence to accuse Morgan Freeman of sexual harassment. Now it has been known the actor is innocent, however, its image will be damaged forever. " It broke in December 4. This viral tweet (15,000 RTs) was erased by CNN´s pressure on EL MUNDO.pic.twitter.com/plfn9KAsp6
4. CNN honchos KNOW ABOUT MY EXPOSING of Melas journalistic fraud. Hey Alana & Marina, why you don´t move your asses & start doing some real journalism for HuffPost asking Emily Kuhn of @BrianStelter team what the heck wanted to talk with Pablo Scarpellini, EL MUNDO correspondent?pic.twitter.com/ecswjmuWyx
5. I will write to marina.fang@huffpost.com sending the information, Lydia Polgreen. I am really tired of the sloppy #MeToo
coverage by HuffPost. The facts are there. If you don´t want to listen then you´re it´s just a subsidiary of Oath not related in any real way to journalism.pic.twitter.com/uz6fO8wnhc
P.S. By the way a very good year, Richard Horgan, Lori McCreary and Joz.
I'm still not sure how to feel about this. We live in a country of due process, and yet this explicitly asks me to reject due process for men accused of sexual misconduct. That inherently causes a bit of cognitive dissonance.
Due process applies to the government taking away your life or liberty - not to public support and job promotions. Image matters they are not guaranteed a clean image. Also most of the high profile men discussed displayed a pattern of behavior that is socially unacceptable
Socially unacceptable to you. You do not rule the world. You are one opinion.
Socially acceptable and unacceptable behavior is known and understood by society at large - otherwise we would use the word personally. If you find their behavior acceptable you are in the minority of society.
I'm in the minroity? Because you know how everyone else feels? I'm sure you also thought 80% of the country would vote for Hillary.
For someone who puts PhD after his name you seem allergic to the reality of statistics being representative of society. 1/2
It was a statement about how you're acting like you know everything, saying I'm in the minority when you have no idea how the rest of the country feels on the metoo movement or those specific celeb cases. Obviously this isn't going anywhere. Have a good day. Be safe out there.
There are plenty of stats about how most Americans feel on these topics, just because you are uniformed doesn’t mean the information is not readily available.
