I just don’t think it is cool for an adult to get in a teenagers face banging a drum and singing in his face 12 inches from the boy’s nose. Meanwhile, the boy stood hands behind his back, bemused but respectful.

Not remotely respectful??? Smirking & threatening. Why would he stand aside for that elderly man?

We need to stop making excuses for the poor behavior of these kids

Not even sure it was smug. Reminds me of the face on an audience member when a comedian or improviser steps out into the audience to do one of those dreaded 'interactive' segments.

Hold on are you defending them? LOL this is what’s wrong with the world y’all will never know what it’s like being a minority’s SHAMEEEE

Everyone has a right to protest. That’s how it works in this country and for everyone to say that this Native American man is the only one who can speak about what he believes in is insane. He approached them and there is video evidence of that.
-
I feel bad for anyone who feels like this behavior is acceptable
-
Well you see I feel like the behavior from both sides of this was/is unacceptable...But all we have seen today are people going after the kid who is just standing there with the guy banging his drum and chanting loudly in his face...and after the older man walked up to him...
-
Kind of weird he didn't move, but just smiled at him, don't ya think
-
Kind of weird that the older man moved right up to him and started chanting and playing his drum louder don't ya think...He was trying to intimidate the kid (while claiming that the group was trying to intimdate his group) but the kid chose just to stand there and smile.
-
If you read the elder's comments, they were surrounded by these kids & were trying to make their way out of the circle thru the crowd to the base of the Linc Memorial to finish their song. They were stopped by the punk in the red maga hat and his smirk tells all! Video was cut.
-
That is not what happened. And the kids were only taking up a portion of the stairs...There were other spots that the Elder could have walked up to the memorial. The elder's group walked over to the kids and walked into the middle of the group...

An elder approaching in chant is an honor. They treated it as a threat.
-
Also, it was an indigenous people’s march and they’re standing around in MAGA gear shouting “build the wall!” These are not innocent lil church boys.
-
It was also a right to life March which the boys were attending. Why would chants if build the wall matter to Native Americans? It's called peacefully protesting. Both sides are allowed to do it. The boys nor the Native Americans did nothing wrong.
-
How does build the wall fit in any march?

-
They claim they were not saying "build the wall."
-
Okay so what we have is a he said she said situation. Who's telling the truth. Or is the truth somewhere in the middle, usually the case. Is it possible the NA protestors were saying anti Trump things. Which could prompt a build the wall chant?
-
He was in the middle of singing a song that sends the Spirits back to the Elders, and thinking about his wife who had died four years earlier:https://twitter.com/washingtonpost/status/1086739479765938176 …
