Vote No on prop 22, it's clear these tech firms are saying without exploitation we can't make money then their business models sucks and I thought capitalist believed the market sorts out such issues not the government. Oh if passed they can spread this model to other industries

People that read the Proposition and/or give a f*** about their fellow humans voted no. People that let commercials and "well that sounds good" vibe dictate how they vote voted yes. It will absolutely pass because there are more of the latter than the former. By far.

The 7/8ths majority to amend this proposition is crazy. Let them withdraw from California then. The cab companies might like that. There should be independent contractors allowed in California. Cuz side hustles r important especially w cost of living in this state. Not like this?

Prop 22 bans gig workers from organizing. If it passes and we want to amend it, it would require a 7/8ths supermajority of the state legislature. So, basically, we could never amend it.
