System A stats. 10 bit depth (same as neuropixels). 550mW. Power consumption is a little higher than the state of the art wireless systems, BUT much higher channel count so I think it beats mW/ch of anything out there by large margin.pic.twitter.com/TBgxViCCA1

might be a little big to put on a mouse... looks like maybe 6 grams?

OK that's all for tonight, been a long day. If anyone has more questions, post and I'll try to answer after a coffee tomorrow morning.

Coffee achieved. Let's look at thread design. 2 types, linear edge and tree. Linear edge is similar to my favorite Neuronexus probe the A1x32, but this is thinner, narrower and floppy. Putting electrodes along edge seems to be able to "hear" more neurons than if in middle.pic.twitter.com/JR6EGzxfAi

Is there a mismatch between caption and scale bar? Looks like closer spacing in the picture than 50um if bar correct. This spacing looks close enough so they will be able to listen to the same neuron on 2-3 electrodes at once, which helps ID the source of each spike.pic.twitter.com/KrfL4IICm3

Fixing my broken thread. They are not doing any online spike sorting. Just spike detection. So the on-chip detection is to reduce bandwidth needed to get the relevant data off the device, by only sending the interesting bits.

Not demonstrated is stimulation, "writing" activity. Stim causes electrical surge that will briefly "blind" recording. How long does the artifact last? How many neighboring threads will be blinded? Important Qs for bi-directional BCI.

Electrical stim is far less specific than recording, will activate many neurons. OK for some applications, but not others. Cortex can likely learn to interpret the stim patterns if there is a consistent correlation between pattern and delivered information.

Here is a 10-minute discussion of Neuralink with Dotun Adebayo from BBC Radio 5. Did I bring up the Borg? You bet I did!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFph3vHRSkE …
