The superintendent knowingly lied to parents of victims and community about Cruz ever being referred to the program. He avoided arrest because of it. That's the point of the program. Students are referred to it in lieu of arrest.

The real problems are that Broward Sheriff and the FBI didnt act on nearly 40 credible threats of violence. They had every right to seize his arms and involuntarily commit him on 11 different occasions. They didnt. They knew he had multiple firearms. Focus on the real problem
