It now makes sense why high-profile devs (PCalc, Panic, Iconfactory…) seem to get the most controversial rejections. Review needs the press.

@marcoarment Or are we simply not hearing about the rejections for developers with lower profiles?

@marcoarment I don't know if I 100% buy that. Everyone gets rejected. You just don't hear about the small devs.

@marcoarment It's entirety possible that there are lots of low-profile devs who get the same treatment but don't get their voice heard.

@marcoarment …and their business is mostly – if not totally – based on Apple's ecosystem. They are very unlikely to leave.

@marcoarment Is this the beginning of Apple bringing its own house down?

@marcoarment Remember how Microsoft brought down its on dominance with the inability to secure its OS from viruses?

@marcoarment Might help if some high profile devs start releasing some of their apps on Android. I love iOS but enough should be enough.

@marcoarment and what's sad about this is that Apple won't give a damn until NYT or WSJ write about this...

@marcoarment Apple could just update their guidelines and put out a press release!

@marcoarment so wait….apple is actively discouraging innovation by intentionally making themselves the bad guy? wtf?

@marcoarment How many potential devs with great ideas are being scared away by the actions of Apple?

@marcoarment But to approve and then reject after its been sold, advertised, etc.? Horrible practice.

@marcoarment If they are going to reject until they set guidelines, fine. Not the best policy, but it is what it is.

@marcoarment I think, perhaps, that the key word there is “basically.” But, there are other issues involved more important.

@marcoarment this kind of strategy is severely undercut when they make reversals, like with PCalc. No? Just seems dumb & lazy.
