I hope Apple realizes how deeply their reputation has been damaged, in an alarmingly short time, by their rapid decline in software quality.

@marcoarment @_Jordan mainly to developer types. Not so much to consumers who are so far ignorant of the shift

@marcoarment safari crashes on my 6 plus all the time. And YouTube videos will crash it every time if you rotate the display during playback

@marcoarment Always been like this. Memories are short. Remember 10.7.0 being particularly bad.

@drewmccormack @marcoarment iOS 8 is the buggiest iOS version ever released. Specially that disastrous point update that they reverted.

@Objective_Neo @marcoarment That update was bad, but we've seen worse. Remember the iTunes rm -rf *? I haven't had many issues with iOS 8

@drewmccormack @marcoarment that's exactly the problem. For sure it works fine for some people. That is the result of insufficient testing.

@marcoarment Yeah, but still much better than “alternatives”, and hardware still years ahead.

@Altimor @marcoarment @garybernhardt years ahead of what? My laptop has the same specs as the current Macbook and I've had it for a year.

@envygeeks Hardware is not just specs of CPU/HD/RAM, but also thickness, weight, noise, trackpad, screen… @marcoarment @garybernhardt

@Altimor @marcoarment @garybernhardt except I have a 3K hi-dpi screen, a touchscreen and synaptics chip (like Apple) and Macbooks get noisy.

@marcoarment would you ever consider switching to Android? I had a N5 — it’s getting really good. I’d go back if the apps were there.

@beiting @marcoarment What apps *aren't* there? I'd say it's opposite now, where Android has some killer apps that aren't possible on iOS

@uncleguito @marcoarment —fair question. By the end of this year, the gap between the quality of apps on Android vs iOS is mostly gone.

@uncleguito @marcoarment - right now the strongest thing for me is iMessage and FaceTime. FT w/the wife and kid on the road > Android stuff

@DianeKerstein @uncleguito she just doesn’t want to dick around with it. She has 1,000,000 other things to do. Android isn’t one of them.
