@marco_org I don’t think ”scientific research” in general benefits from many cores. Some scientific _computing_, sure. But not all research.

@marcoarment @knweiss with the current E5, there are single and dual socket versions. So it will be an E5, but the single socket version

@marcoarment @knweiss currently, E5-16xx is single socket high performance, E5-26xx dual socket. Both have 40x PCI-E 3.0 channels.
