In the social justice context, I'm skeptical. People often praise the apparent race/gender objectivity of AI, but I think it'll just reinforce inequality through alg discrimination while removing and confusing all standards for *personal* accountability (which we need)
Machines now mostly just follow orders. (Although those orders increasingly come from other machines.) Should we look forward to ones that take initiative?
