In my experience, those who deny or summarily dismiss old evidence r far less worthy of belief than those who consider it w/ all of the surrounding facts and circumstances. Those who twist that evidence to mean something other than what it states on its face r even more unworthy.

'Considering old evidence' but then--upon consideration--'denying/dismissing it' are not mutually exclusive. Whereas 'welcoming it' versus 'refusing to consider it' are. And your last sentence depends wholly on whether you agree with someone else's opinion of the evidence.
