So then let’s talk about clients or SRLs. The information those two groups need is rarely the same. Be specific. Lawyer/non-lawyer is not binary other than as it applies to the actual practice of law. It’s not binary when it comes to what information is needed or comprehension.
I agree. Part of the problem is our lack of a generic alternative. Terms like 'allied professional' are better in some contexts, but not useful to distinguish law-trained folks from clients or unrepresented litigants without such training.
