This Tweet is unavailable.
It works on some units, on others it's way too dark to be usable. I learned this the hard way a long time ago... started putting in a pot or at least a resistor divider.

Fun fact: BootMii shipped with that code enabled for several versions (in delay-timed mode, output only, doesn't care if no LCD is attached). I never documented the pinout and I don't think anyone but me ever actually hooked an LCD up, but it had pretty status messages.
