Why on Earth is @EFF contributing to all the FUD about PGP in that paper? The current version of Enigmail isn't vulnerable and hasn't been for months. That's one of the most widely used PGP plugins. "Stop using PGP email?" I am disappointed, EFF.https://twitter.com/EFF/status/996027656322744323 …

So you're saying you didn't disclose to Thunderbird either, one of the most popular e-mail clients out there, so they could have a fix before the bug was public? Was the embargo just to stroke your ego then?

Please, calm down. We contacted Thunderbird in October 2017 and have been working closely with them.

So how exactly is Thunderbird (an e-mail client with no built-in PGP support) vulnerable in a PGP scenario, and why isn't it fixed yet if they've known about the problem for so long?

I guess you are starting to realize why we recommended to disable PGP and S/MIME for now. It's a mess.

I'm starting to realize just how much you botched the vendor coordination on this disclosure. It's a mess.
