anyway I keep forgetting to use twitter. in this week of relevant things, my nexus 5x phone died and I got a pixel (but not a pixel 2)

yep! I guess I could have tried harder to salvage it, but I just really don't want to risk it dying again when I'm on a trip or something
My battery is in an increasingly terrible state so I've thought about upgrading, but the Pixel is EOL'ed and the Pixel 2 lacks a headphone jack and that's a big no-no... I'm kind of hoping Treble gets good enough this year to make non-Google phones a good option.

I was frustrated at the lack of a good 5x replacement, wound up buying an iPhone se. Eh, it’s a phone.

If I wanted just a phone I'd still be using my Nexus S (which technically makes phone calls and can still run Hangouts 50% of the time, as long as I don't try to use the call feature!). But I want something a bit more useful ;-)
