I just realized I'm putting RJ11 phone cables in the "weird cables" box. How times have changed. At least RS232 DE-9 cables still go into the "misc PC interface cables" box.

just noticed today that APC's UPSs have recently switched from 8P8C-carrying-USB to regular USB-B, which means I don't have to look around for that particular weird cable anymore
USB A-B is still very much a thing. I have tons of devices that use that (printer, scanner, OpenVizsla, some external enclosures, Kronos, monitors, etc)
